Parunthumpara

Parunthumpara is a village in Peerumedu Taluk, Idukki District, Kerala. This tourist attraction is located between Peerumed and Thekkady, approximately 8 kilometers away. Located far away. 6 km from Peerumed and 25 km from Thekkady, when you approach the rough road off National Highway 220, you'll be taken to a realm where mist caresses the rocks, rain refreshes the air, and a pleasant breeze embraces your skin. It is a thriving tourist destination. Many local tourists visit to experience the quiet environment and serenity of the woodland. It is a great hill station for getting away from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoying the peaceful backdrop of deep woodlands. The district's tourism development committee is working on plans to establish Parunthumpara as a connecting point between Kumarakam and Thekkady, both popular tourist attractions. Parunthumpara, which translates to "Eagle Rock," is a breathtaking hilltop in Kerala, only 6 kilometers from the lovely plantation town of Peermedu. As you climb the steep path off National Highway 220, you'll be taken to a realm where mist caresses the rocks, rain refreshes the air, and a gentle breeze touches your skin.

If the sky is clear, you may view Sabarimala's forests from here. Ayyappa devotees flock here during Mandal to witness Makarajyoti. Because it is a large highland area, there are far-off mountains visible from here. It's a magnificent experience to see the snow cover occasionally, followed by the far mountains as the wind blows away. A rock here is very similar to the head of the renowned poet Rabindra Nath Tagore. It's known as Tagore Para. At an elevation of 4,700 feet above sea level, Parunthumpara offers a bird's-eye view of lush green meadows, deep valleys, and the silver ribbon of the Azhutha River. The landscape stretches endlessly, inviting trekkers and off-beat travelers to explore its pristine beauty.
